These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website located at laurascakes.uk, orders placed through the online shop, and self-service purchases made at The Cake Shed. By using this website or purchasing from the shed, you agree to these terms in full.
1. Website Use
The content of this website is for general information and personal use only. Laura’s Cakes reserves the right to change or update content, policies, or services at any time without notice.
You must not misuse this website, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of it, or use it in a way that causes harm to the business or other users.
2. Copyright and Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including but not limited to text, logos, branding, photography, cake designs, and illustrations — is the property of Laura’s Cakes unless otherwise stated.
No part of this website may be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without express written permission from Laura’s Cakes.
3. Product Descriptions and Imagery
All cakes are handmade and may vary slightly in appearance from the photos shown. Real items such as flowers or shells may be used as decoration. Any product images are for illustrative purposes only.
Laura’s Cakes makes every effort to describe and present products accurately, but makes no guarantees as to the exact appearance, color, or finish of any cake.
4. Orders and Online Payment
Orders placed through the online shop are subject to acceptance and availability. Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering.
All sales are final. Because all cakes are made to order and perishable, no refunds, cancellations, or exchanges will be offered once an order has been confirmed.
Payment processing is handled via Stripe as a third-party provider. Laura’s Cakes is not responsible for any errors, delays, or service interruptions related to third-party payment platforms.
5. Cake Shed Payments (Honesty Box)
The Cake Shed operates on a self-service, “Honesty Box” basis. By taking items from the shed, you agree to the following:
- Payment Requirement: Payment must be made in full at the time of collection. Prices are clearly marked on the chalkboards within each basket.
- Payment Method: Payments are processed via the provided Stripe QR code. You are responsible for entering the correct total amount as per the items selected.
- Final Sale: Due to the perishable nature of the goods and the self-service format, all items taken from the shed are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- Fair Use: The honesty system relies on mutual trust. I reserve the right to withdraw the service or monitor the premises to ensure the security of the shed and its contents.
6. Collection and Fulfilment
For orders placed through the online shop, items are for collection only, as indicated at the time of ordering. Collection times will be arranged and communicated once an order is confirmed.
Customers are responsible for collecting their order on time. I cannot be held liable for any spoilage or damage resulting from late pickup or improper transport after collection.
7. Limitation of Liability
Laura’s Cakes will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages that may arise from the use of the website or the purchase of any products, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data, or personal injury resulting from misuse.
Use of the website and purchase of goods is at your own risk.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from the use of this website or the purchase of products shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
9. Changes to These Terms
I may revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the website and services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
